８０年代後半辺りから少しずつ減退してきていた、ハードなロック・スピリットを取り戻した快作。３曲目や７曲目のようにガツンとくる曲などは本当に久しぶりです。近頃のＪ-ＰＯＰシーンで幅を利かせている俄か仕込みのカラオケシンガー達が、１００年修行したって絶対に真似できない”麻里さんの専売特許”であるハイトーン・ヴィブラートもばっちりきめてくれます。

本領発揮の大傑作。硬と軟、柔と剛。このさじ加減の絶妙なバランス感覚が麻里さんの魅力だとするなら、”軟と柔”のほうに偏りがちだった近頃の作品に物足りなさを感じていた人も本作には満足できると思います。３曲目や６曲目が硬と剛なら、５曲目と１０曲目は軟と柔といった感じ。他の曲についてもライブ映えしそうなイイ曲だらけ。重量感あふれるへヴィなサウンドとセンシティブなサウンド。まさに"白眉"です。レコーディングは前作同様、LA人脈には頼らず日本人スタッフで行われているようですが特に不都合は感じませんでした。雑誌やラジオのインタビューで自身の音楽性の変化について、「変えようと意識しているわけではない」と常々言っている麻里さん。これは本心だろうと思う。要するに今の気持ちはロックに傾いていると言うことなのだ。今現在、麻里さんのファン層が広がっているとは思えないが、グレイゾーンの人々を巻き込んだ一大ブームとも言える人気を勝ち得た一昔前よりも今の方がアーティストとしては健全だと言えると思う。プライベートを切り売りして名を売るような芸能人的なことをせずとも実力だけで勝負できるシンガーが男性女性を問わず今の日本にどれだけいるか考えてみて欲しい。ね、麻里さんの凄さが分かったでしょ。

まず冒頭のAsh And Blueを聴いてみてください。

これが浜田麻里です、これが答えです。

全体としては外プロダクションは使ってはいませんが、この迫力!!センス、アレンジ共に洋楽HRと比べても何ら遜色ありません。
初期ブルレボあたりが好みならアドレナライズでしょう。
また平成麻里初心者の方なら、今まで流されて聴いてきたHEY3カラオケ向けフェイクJ‐POPに嫌気が差すでしょう。

そんな強力な作品です。
